RISE OF THE NACIREMA
Many People think that being American is some kind of newly created human race. They believe that you can be 100% American when in reality you can never be, and those who claim to be 100% (main stream white middle class Christians) criticize those who have cultured families of other countries or religions. The idea that America was founded on was for it to be a huge “tossed salad” of various ingredients. It was supposed to a place where people of different race, ethnicity, culture, and social conduct could live together side by side. This is the real America, however the main stream would have you believe America is a melting pot, and that everyone should adopt the values and ideas of main stream. Instead of being judged and looked down upon as non American we, the racial and cultural minorities of the United States, have taken the Nacirema as a symbol of being a proud cultured American. If the main stream, mostly white Christians, is going to accuse the racial and cultural minorities of not being full pledged Americans then I guess I for one am just backwards in my values, so our new name will be american backwards. We have taken the name as a boycott, to bring pride to all the social, cultural, and racial minorities and to bring understanding throughout the United States.

Are we all just Puppets of FATE??

I keep thinking about if there is a God then how can there really be free will. The argument goes something like this. If God has created everything, then there is obviously nothing that God did not create. So if God created everything then we must conclude that God also created time, the past the present and knows what going to happen in the future. If God did not create the future then some other higher being must have, implying two Gods, which does not make sense to Christian ideals. So if God created the future that means he knows exactly what we are going to do in the future. As humans the Bible is said to have given us free will or choice, but since God has created and seen the future, our free will choices are pretty much set in stone and must follow accordingly to how God created it. Thus are our choices in life, ever really free to make? According to this logic it would appear that all our free choices, are just following a pre set path that has no way to derail of God’s path. Me, writing this commentary is free will, but God has already foreseen it, so how is that free if I am following a path that I can never break off. This whole idea of a preset path isn’t radical thinking. I basically described what most people call fate. Every time that something is more than just a coincident, you’re implying that you have a destiny or a preset path in life. In my opinion if you do believe in fate, then unfortunately you are a slave to it. Yep I guess in life we all end up puppets of fate. The choice is yours.
Now after I thought about this logic argument I directly thought of our collective reason on Earth. If God knows the future, then why are we here? In the Christian Faith we are on this planet to be judged, to either live good Christian lives and go to heaven, or live moral less lives and go to hell. This almost made me go insane, all I could about was think that if God already knew the future, meaning he would know exactly what we would do, and would know every future choice we would make, why would God put us through the torment and frustration of living on Earth everyday?
