"Pick and Choose" Christians

recently more and more Christian believers are saying that they believe in parts of the bible or their faith , but agree that some parts of their faith are not literal, just figurative. I call these people "pick and choose" Christians, because they only believe what they think is right- literal, and disregard the rest as just stories.

I have a huge problem with these "pick and choose" Christians.
How can you only partly agree with parts of your religion and not the rest, and still call your self a follower of that religion. In regards to religion, dont you have to take it or leave. Isnt it all or nothing? It makes no sense to decide that some parts of your religion are wrong, but to still believe in the rest. If you dont believe in one part of your religion or Bible.......then would you be implying that the part you dont believe in is wrong.........and wouldnt that logically loose creditablity in your eyes on your own religion.

According to the Association of Religious Data a poll conducted on beliefs of the origin of man, 41.9% of the U.S. population believe that Man has evolved, but God guided.

If you dont believe in Adam and Eve, then your not following your religion, your creating some kind of hybrid science religious view, which goes agaisnt the tradition and foundation of the bible.

I dont know, i guess i can understand how people can believe in evolution, which goes agaisnt the bible (word of God), and still believe that God had something to do with evolution.

Shouldnt you have to believe in every part of your religion in order to call your self a member?

DONT MAKE ENGLISH OFFICIAL LANGUAGE OF U.S.

THER ARE 1,341,369 SPANISH ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNERS IN CALIFORNIA OUT OF 1,570,424 ENGLISH LANGUGE LEARNERS TOTAL IN CALIFORNIA.

If we make English the official language of the United States all English Language Learner programs in schools will be shut down. We as a Nation will be turning our back on our own citizens who havent yet fully learned English. This will have devastating result on test scores, and quality of education that these citizens are to be able to get through public schools. They will be expected to learn english over night, and if not, will have to drop out of school, or get flunked out.

Evolution needs to be taught!
Related to country: United States

Evolution should be taught in schools!

Why Creationism should not be taught in public education
Creationism is not science it is a belief, and beliefs can never even be considered science because faith can never be proven wrong. All scientific facts can either be proven true or false, or in the case of theories, at least have supporting data of the theory that needs to be proven true.

Creation science is obviously seen as an expression of a religious belief being imposed on public education. In a 1987 case, Edwards v. Aquillard, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that these (creation science, to be taught in place in stead of evolution) laws were unconstitutional because they violated the 1st Amendment of the U.S. constitution.

Evolution is not theory its fact. Scientist can track the genetic change in a population over time, which is the basis for the evolution theory. Genetics change due to natural selection, can lead organisms to acquire adaptation such as mimicry or camouflage. All Evolution Thoery does is link the known fact of genetic change in a population of an organism, with human origin, history and other closely related organisms. This is real science, and is backed by scientific data.

If you do not want your child to taught scientific theories like evolution, then put your child in a private school or better yet church and stop this crusade for keeping science out of our school.

is Republican Tancredo an idiot?

Rep Tancredo said yesterday at the presidential Republican debate that all immigrants should assimilate into "American culture"..........what ever American culture is
His worlds really enraged me.........

The United States is a country founded on immigration, and to be place where people of any race, religion, background, culture, ideology, age, or sex can come together and live side by side to flourish in America. That is the American dream, a place of Opportunity. America is supposed to a “tossed salad” if you will. You got lettuce, cucumber, chicken, dressing, tomato, croutons all in one bowl. All these great ingredients represent the different cultures, ideas; religions etc. that people live with side by side each other. Tom Tancredo will have you believe that the United States was founded on the idea of a “melting pot”, where all ideas and cultures are blending into one. The problem with a melting pot is that the majority of the ideas always push out the minorities, and thus the cultural and ideologies minority beliefs will be lost. This is not the American way. America is not a place where people come to assimilate into main stream culture, it’s a place where immigrants and citizens a like live for individual freedom of their own culture, religion and language. Learning the English language is very important for new Immigrants to learn but it should not be the official language of the United States. Having an official language would go against the whole foundation of the United States of America.

TOM TANCREDO- I DON’T WANT TO ASSIMULATE I AM MEXICAN AMERICAN WHICH MEANS I AM AMERICAN AND THAT’S GOOD ENOUGH YOU JACK OFF.

FOCUS ON WORLD POVERTY

• Half the world — nearly three billion people — live on less than two dollars a day.

• The GDP (Gross Domestic Product) of the poorest 48 nations (i.e. a quarter of the world’s countries) is less than the wealth of the world’s three richest people combined.

• Nearly a billion people entered the 21st century unable to read a book or sign their names.

• Less than one per cent of what the world spent every year on weapons was needed to put every child into school by the year 2000 and yet it didn’t happen.

• 1 billion children live in poverty (1 in 2 children in the world). 640 million live without adequate shelter, 400 million have no access to safe water, 270 million have no access to health services. 10.6 million died in 2003 before they reached the age of 5 (or roughly 29,000 children per day).

DEMOCRATS GET U.S. OUT OF IRAQ PLEASE!

i was just thinking of very important philosophical question...............
If you fail to prevent something, are you therefore causing it?

- think about congress not passing the resolution to get troops out of iraq.
This is what the Republican propaganda marketing machince is doing, pointing blame of the Iraq war on to the Democrat controlled senate

Rights and Protections Denied Same-Sex Partners

Rights and Protections Denied Same-Sex Partners
Because same-sex couples are denied the right to marry, same-sex couples and their families are denied access to the more than 1,138 federal rights, protections and responsibilities automatically granted to married heterosexual couples. Among those are:
• The right to make decisions on a partner's behalf in a medical emergency. Specifically, the states generally provide that spouses automatically assume this right in an emergency. If an individual is unmarried, the legal "next of kin" automatically assumes this right. This means, for example, that a gay man with a life partner of many years may be forced to accept the financial and medical decisions of a sibling or parent with whom he may have a distant or even hostile relationship.
• The right to take up to 12 weeks of leave from work to care for a seriously ill partner or parent of a partner. The Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 permits individuals to take such leave to care for ill spouses, children and parents but not a partner or a partner's parents.
• The right to petition for same-sex partners to immigrate.
• The right to assume parenting rights and responsibilities when children are brought into a family through birth, adoption, surrogacy or other means. For example, in most states, there is no law providing a noncustodial, nonbiological or nonadoptive parent's right to visit a child - or responsibility to provide financial support for that child - in the event of a breakup.
• The right to share equitably all jointly held property and debt in the event of a breakup, since there are no laws that cover the dissolution of domestic partnerships.
• Family-related Social security benefits, income and estate tax benefits, disability benefits, family-related military and veterans benefits and other important benefits.
• The right to inherit property from a partner in the absence of a will.
• The right to purchase continued health coverage for a domestic partner after the loss of a job.

DOES GOD EXIST??
Translations available in: English (original) | Spanish | French | Arabic | Portuguese

This blog is a random thought, i had when i was watching people talk about the return of christ. If Christ
ever did return to this world, or if we ever prove that God really does exist, then wouldnt that destroy our sense of free will? We were given free will on this planet in order to be judged by God after death. But if God reveals himself/herself then wouldnt we have to believe in God and Follow the ways of the bible in order to go to heaven? that is unless we really wanted to go to hell. If God ever appeared in modern life and proved his existence, than we would be slaves to him wouldnt we? knowing he controls everything we would have to follow exactly as the bible tells us too in order for us to live a prosperous after life. That wouldnt be free will, it would be rather more of a FORCED FREE WILL, and thus not free will at all.
